Student-Service-Center (SSC)

Central contact: Infothek in the Löwengebäude

The Infothek on the ground floor, Löwengebäude, at Universitätsplatz   , is the "reception" of the Student Service Center (SSC). Many concerns about studying can be clarified here immediately (applications, forms, certificates), while more complex issues lead to a personal discussion (depending on your concern, with the General Student Counselling Service, the Student Registration Office including the International Student Section).

Appplicants and students can clarify issues related to the following and similar questions at the SSC:

  • Uni-Service-Card: reissue, renewal of validation
  • certificates: study progress, matriculation and exmatriculation
  • Löwenportal: passwords and TAN management
  • study counselling: choice/change of study, study doubts, drop-out
  • financial matters: semester fees/re-registration, BAföG, tuition fees
  • study organization: leave of absence, part-time studies

For some student concerns we offer several thematic pages, which explain basic questions intensively and, at best, clarify them directly:

Unfortunately, we do not provide all necessary information in English. Some information currently remain available in German only:

academic year schedule | change notification | change of study programme | compensation for disadvantage | doctoral studies | health insurance | Löwenportal (help) | pregnancy | recognition of study and examination achievements | return of study place | study place exchange | tuition fees

Opening hours: Infothek

Some external partners also offer regular consultation hours on our premises:

Submitting documents to our mailboxes

If you only need to submit documents to the Student Registration Office (application papers, etc.), please use the mailbox on the ground floor of the Löwengebäude   , in the right hand corridor, next to the notice board.

A freely accessible night mailbox, also for deadline matters, is located directly opposite at Universitätsring 5 („Burse zur Tulpe“) at the entrance to Universitätsplatz   .

Validation stations for your student ID (USC)

Student ID cards require a renewal of the validity imprint (validation) ahead of each new semester, after the successful re-registration. You can find a list of our validation stations on the Student ID Card (USC) webpage. This is where we also provide information about the payment function and top up stations.
