DSH course discontinued as of winter semester 2026/27
From winter semester 2026/27, the DSH course at Landesstudienkolleg Halle will no longer be offered. By this, neither the Studienkolleg nor Halle University are offering any study preparatory C1 language courses anymore.
However, the external DSH examination will continue to be offered. Further information can be found on the website of Landesstudienkolleg Halle.
For direct applications for a German-taught degree programme, proof of C1 proficiency must now be submitted with the application. Please see the accepted proofs HERE.

Evaluation update for applicants from India
From winter semester 2026/27, applicants with Indian high school degrees must now prove at least 70% of the maximum CGPA for admission to Studienkolleg and undergraduate programmes (Bachelor, state examination etc.). This update has been determined by the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZaB) and is effective since 15 March 2026. Certificates that do not meet the new criteria can unfortunately no longer be considered. Further details are provided on anabin and the website of APS India .
Transitional regulations for winter semester 2026/27
For winter semester 2026/27, we will still accept the following exceptions:
- Applicants who already hold an APS issued under the old regulations.
- Applicants who have already passed the Feststellungsprüfung (FSP) from a German Studienkolleg.
Start application period winter semester 2026/27
Applications for winter semester 2026/27 for undergraduate programmes*, Master’s and Studienkolleg can currently be submitted via uni-assist .

*Applications for the teacher training programmes Lehramt Gymnasium, Sekundarschule and Förderschule are not yet possible due to upcoming changes.

New Master's degree in English from winter semester 2026/27
From winter semester 2026/27, Halle University offers the following new Master`s degree fully taught in English: Anglo-American Literature, Language and Culture. Applications can now be submitted via uni-assist until and incl. 15 June 2026.
