Exceptions for medicine, dentistry and pharmacy: Citizens of EU and EEA should apply for the first subject semester only via www.hochschulstart.de.

Applicants being older than 55 years cannot be accepted for the first subject semester.

Applications for
- Bachelor Biology, Biochemistry or Psychology
- State Examination Medicine, Dentistry or Pharmacy

Applicants for the first subject semester are requested to register via Hochschulstart     for a so-called BID/BAN number - before their regular application via uni-assist   . Applicants who need to attend the Preparatory College (Studienkolleg) or a German course before starting their degree studies, should register when applying regularly for the study programme.

For the application for a higher semester – in almost all study programmes – a Placement Decision (Einstufungsbescheid) issued by the responsible examination office of Halle University must be submitted together with the application documents. For the contact details of the responsible examination office, please click here.

International applicants not yet enrolled at Halle University and without a German university entrance qualification must apply via uni-assis   t   . The semester indicated in the Placement Decision must be stated in the online application. For this reason, a Placement Decision must be issued before the application. Please note that the Placement Decision does not replace the application in due form and time.

When applying for degree programmes with restricted admission (NC) (exception: applications for the lottery procedure, i.e. Losverfahren), the Placement Decision should contain both information on the semester and a numerical value of the credited academic achievements. This value constitutes the basis for the ranking list in order to allocate study places in higher semesters of NC study programmes.
